Laura-Anne Cleveland serves as the Chief Nursing Officer at Reston Hospital Center. Laura-Anne joined Reston in October 2022 from HCA’s Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, where she had been the Associate Chief Nursing Officer since 2019.
Since joining the Reston Hospital family, Laura-Anne has spearheaded numerous initiatives focused on increasing care experience consistency and employee engagement. As a leader, she has fostered a culture of accountability, empowerment and multidisciplinary collaboration. It was her vision that led to the launch of shared governance across the entire facility. From a growth perspective, she was integral in the development of a dedicated Spine and Orthopedic Center and recently launched the expansion of Reston Hospital’s oncology program with the creation of an inpatient cancer care unit.
Laura-Anne started her career with HCA in 2005 as an ER nurse and then progressed to clinical coordinator at Swedish Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. In 2016, she was promoted to the Assistant Director for Southwest Emergency Room and in 2017, was promoted to the Director for both Southwest and Belmar Emergency Rooms. In 2018, she became the Director for Women’s Services at Swedish Medical Center.
She has a passion for disaster management and is an intermittent federal employee of DMAT (Disaster Management Assistance Team). Through this role she has had the opportunity to travel to places like Texas, the Carolinas, California, St. John, and Puerto Rico to assist these communities during crisis, including two COVID-19 missions. Additionally, Laura-Anne is enthusiastic about culture building and growing leaders. She cares deeply about patients, staff, and staff leaders. She strives to ensure every colleague is seen, heard, valued, and part of a family.
Laura-Anne received her MBA-HA from American Sentinel University and her BSN from Old Dominion University. She is also a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN). She is a current Board Member with HealthWorks for Northern Virginia whose mission is to provide access to affordable, quality medical, dental and behavioral health care for patients from all backgrounds, ages and incomes.
