NaKhia Grays is a lover of Jesus and people. She believes that every person should be able to thrive while walking in their God-given purposes. She has a passion for developing others - mentoring and coaching others as they discover their gifts and strengths, create healthy rhythms for their lives, or navigate seasons of transition. She especially looks to serve those from historically marginalized communities as she has done in her work for the last 20+ years with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and Black Campus Ministries.
Over the years NaKhia has served in leadership capacities locally, regionally, and nationally and she speaks from a wealth of experience from her personal relationship with God, investing in others, developing teams, creating spaces for people to encounter God, pursuing systemic change for others to thrive, and working on her own self-leadership.
A Baltimore, MD native, NaKhia graduated from Bucknell University in 2001 with a BS in Computer Science. After helping to replant an InterVarsity chapter as a student at Bucknell, NaKhia volunteered with InterVarsity upon graduation and joined InterVarsity staff the next year. She has served at Bucknell, York College of PA, and Bowie State University before serving as our Mid-Atlantic region’s first Black Campus Ministries Regional Coordinator from 2014-2023. Currently, NaKhia has a dual role serving as an Assistant Regional Ministry Director here in the Mid-Atlantic region and serving within the National Black Campus Ministries Department. She has a focus on staff and leadership development.
NaKhia is happily married to her amazing husband of 16 years, Tarik, and is the mom to an imaginative 7-year-old, Daniel. Some of NaKhia’s hobbies are reading, writing, puzzles, and exploring new places. NaKhia and her family reside in Waldorf, MD outside of Washington, DC.
